Websites residents can rely on
A public agency's website is how residents pay a bill, find a meeting, or learn what to do when the water is off. It has to work for everyone, stay up when it matters most, and be easy for staff to keep current.
What every agency build includes
-
Accessibility-first builds
WCAG 2.1 AA from the first template, not patched in at the end. Automated checks run on every change, and we test by hand with a keyboard and screen readers before launch. Every site ships with an accessibility statement and a way for residents to report a barrier.
-
Independent accessibility testing
A third-party accessibility auditor verifies conformance before launch. We fix what they find, and you receive their report and a conformance checklist for your records.
-
Managed U.S. hosting
Delivered with a managed-hosting partner in U.S. data centers: uptime monitoring, daily backups with tested restores, DDoS protection, and capacity for traffic spikes during emergencies. We remain your single accountable contact.
-
Security
Multi-factor sign-in for every editor, least-privilege roles, audit logs, minimal third-party code with automatic patching, HTTPS everywhere, and a written incident-response plan with prompt breach notification.
-
Plain-language training
Short sessions and written guides for the staff who publish: writing for the web, making accessible documents, and using the content system. Sessions are recorded so new staff can catch up.
-
You own everything
Your content, code and data export in full at any time, documented so your staff or another vendor could take over. No lock-in.
How a project runs
- Discovery. We review your current site, analytics, content and documents, and talk to the staff who use it and the residents who depend on it.
- Structure. Navigation organized around the tasks residents come to do, with key services a few clicks from the home page.
- Design and build. Accessible templates, tested with real content, reviewed with your team at each step.
- Migration. Content moved with redirects for every old address, links checked, and documents made accessible.
- Verify and launch. Independent accessibility audit, security review, staff training, then launch with close support in the weeks after.
- Operate. Hosting, monitoring, updates, backups and help for staff, with regular reporting.
Working with procurement
We respond to formal solicitations as Lake Missoula Ventures LLC, a Massachusetts LLC. Where a requirement calls for a specialist, such as managed hosting or independent accessibility testing, we name the partner in our response and stay the single accountable prime.
